Located to the North East of Regents Park Camden Town has become hugely popular over the last decade. It’s location makes it ideal to travel just about anywhere in London. The tube station services both the Charring Cross & Bank branches of the Northern line, there are plenty of busses and Camden Road overground station (running east to west across London).
Camden’s main attraction is Camden market, an attraction that welcomes over a quarter of a million visitors in the summer each week. The market has a diverse selection of stalls from the nostalgic, the cutting edge to the outrageously extreme as well as food from all over the world. The market runs either side of Camden Lock that has been developed over the years to provide great clubs, pubs and restaurants many of which overlook the Lock.
The area has always had a mixture of residential and commercial properties. Recently the light industrial units have been taken over by creative Companies. Many film, TV, music and advertising companies have moved into Camden and the area is home to the London office of MTV. It is not unusual to see famous people from the arts in the area. Bands such as Oasis and Blur along with a selection of actors have been spotted on the streets.
Camden is basically a cool cosmopolitan place to live and the local amenities and facilities are endless. There are amazing restaurants, cafes, clubs, pubs, 2 large supermarkets, delicatessens, bustling market, shops, quiet leafy streets, Regents Park and Primrose Hill within a short walk, the canal and probably the best equipped high street in London.
The area has a selection of just about every type of property from former commercial buildings transformed into luxury apartments, beautiful examples of Victorian and Georgian houses, Nash designed houses on the edge of the Park, newly built houses and flats and some cheaper social housing.
This diversity has created a rich melting pot of people and makes Camden the young peoples place of choice.
